Thermal Cameras are designed to monitor & detect humans & vehicles in camouflaged scenes with poor visibility, due to the camera being essentially a heat detector, it uses this information to build a composite image allowing it to see in complete darkness.
Thermal Camera are the ideal choice when both distance and terrain are tough, with built in video analytics they can provide long-range perimeter protection and leverages thermal technology to operate under challenging conditions while minimizing false alarms. It is designed to detect the presence and movement of people and vehicles in areas with poor visibility, including partly camouflaged scenes, low lighting and even absolute darkness, without the need for additional light sources.
Typically, with detection of a person up to 310m and 319 for a vehicle these camera are the obvious choice for perimeter security.
But remember Thermal is not just for security as the camera technology can be used to see hot spots in certain areas, this could be waste management sites to monitor potential hot spots than could cause fires or testing of high performance engineering equipment such as engine test rigs.
They can also be applied to elevated temperature solution for Airport Security or Staff Entrances for Fever detection.
