ONSITE RADIO REPEATERS
Onsite Radios which require greater coverage will require an onsite repeater along with a Technically Assigned Licence. Technical Services have installed many Repeater Systems including external Aerial to give greater Coverage around the site and underground.
The Repeaters are either Rack Mount or Wall mount and are pre-configured with external or internal duplexers.
UHF or VHF? Which one is right for me?
If you already have radios onsite then you would need to use the same Band Radio whether its UHF or VHF as the two aren’t compatible but if it’s a new system then we would normally recommend VHF for mainly outdoor use and UHF for Built up areas.
A licenced radio will allow the radio to use up to 5Watts which greatly increases coverage especially with terrain and buildings.
Licenced Radios are less prone to interference and cross channel interference from other users even more so when using Tech Assigned Licence
