PROXIMITY ACCESS CONTROL
Contactless technology allows proximity readers to offer a robust, low-cost method of access control. The unique identification stored on the integrated circuit device reduces the likelihood of damage or copying.
They also comply with the Disability Discrimination Act.
They can be installed on many points of entry, these can include doors, gates, barriers & even delivery bay shutter doors.
How do proximity readers work?
A Modern proximity device works on a 13.56 MHz contactless RFID. The device transmits a signal to the proximity reader via a Wiegand or clock-and-data interface. The reader decodes the information and permits or denys access to the door.
A typical read range is approximately 100mm but much longer ranges are available allowing hand free entrance.
